Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: 26 March 2026

Jura Labs CIC (Community Interest Company No. 17117467) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Measures to Support Accessibility

Jura Labs takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission and development process.
  • Test with automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) and manual keyboard/screen reader testing.
  • Design with sufficient colour contrast, clear focus indicators, and meaningful alternative text.
  • Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

The Jura Labs website and ROOTED application target WCAG 2.2 level AA conformance. Current implementation includes:

  • Colour contrast: All text meets AA minimum ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Tab order follows logical reading order.
  • Focus indicators: 3px solid outline with 2-4px offset on all focusable elements, with :focus fallback for older browsers.
  • Touch targets: All interactive elements meet the 44x44px minimum target size.
  • Screen reader support: Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks (role="banner", role="navigation", role="main"), ARIA labels on navigation and tab components, and aria-expanded state on mobile menu toggle.
  • Form accessibility: All form fields have visible labels, aria-required attributes, and error states with sufficient contrast.
  • Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is available for keyboard users.
  • Responsive design: Content reflows at all viewport widths from 320px to 2560px without horizontal scrolling.
  • Reduced motion: All animations and transitions are disabled when prefers-reduced-motion: reduce is active.
  • Print styles: Optimised print stylesheet removes navigation, adjusts colours, and displays link URLs.

Current status: Substantially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA.

Known Limitations

  • The feature tabs bar may require horizontal scrolling on very narrow screens; a visual gradient indicates scrollable content.
