Jura Labs CIC ("we", "us", "our") is a Community Interest Company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17117467). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you use our website at juralabs.org.
Important: This policy covers the Jura Labs website only. The ROOTED carbon calculator is a local-first application that processes all data on your device. Jura Labs has zero access to any data entered into ROOTED. See our Terms and Conditions for details.

What Data We Collect
We collect personal data when you voluntarily provide it through our website forms:
Contact form
- Name, to address you in our response
- Email address, to reply to your enquiry
- Organisation (optional), to understand your context
- Subject selection, to route your enquiry appropriately
- Message content, to understand and respond to your request
- IP address and timestamp, recorded automatically for security and anti-abuse purposes
ROOTED pilot registration form
- Name and email address, to manage your pilot access
- Organisation name, to understand your context
- Country and sector, to ensure eligibility and plan cohort composition
- IP address and timestamp, recorded automatically for security purposes
Newsletter subscription form
- Email address, to send you our newsletter
- First name (optional), to personalise communications
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-first, open-source analytics service that we self-host on our own infrastructure. Umami collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not track you across sites. Because we self-host, your analytics data never leaves our servers. We see only aggregate page view counts and referrer data. We never see individual user information.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tracking technology.
How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Respond to your enquiry or message (contact form)
- Manage your participation in the ROOTED pilot programme (pilot form)
- Send you occasional updates about Jura Labs, ROOTED, and Jura Trace (newsletter — only with your consent)
- Follow up on collaboration or partnership discussions
We will not use your data for marketing purposes unless you explicitly consent by subscribing to our newsletter.

Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue): We use Brevo as our email and contact management platform. When you submit a contact form, register for the pilot, or subscribe to our newsletter, your details are added to Brevo for email delivery and subscriber management. Brevo processes data as a processor under a Data Processing Agreement and does not use your data for their own purposes. Brevo's data centres are located in the EU. Brevo privacy policy.
- Hetzner Online GmbH: Our website and self-hosted services are hosted on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany (EU). Your IP address and request data are processed by Hetzner as part of normal web serving. Hetzner privacy policy.
- Automation: Newsletter signups are processed through a self-hosted automation platform (n8n) on the same Hetzner infrastructure. No data leaves our servers.
- Legal obligation: If required by law or court order.

After the applicable retention period, personal data is deleted from both our local files and Brevo.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at paul@juralabs.org. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. We will respond within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend this by a further two months and will notify you of the extension.
Cookies
This website uses a session cookie required for the contact form to function (CSRF protection). This is a strictly necessary cookie and does not require consent under UK GDPR. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
